You either have to employ another lite to reduce the contrast around the screen, or use tinted lens 'off the shelf' reading glasses.. For those people living in Canada, I have seen these in Shoppers Drugmart stores, but should exist bachelor in other countries..

I have a Dell XPS L502X. Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz, 6.00 GB RAM and a 64-bit operating system. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack one
I can assure you lot that I have adjusted my brightness and contrast accordingly. Information technology is fine during the day or when I take a light on, but in full darkness, I would prefer to conform the monitor effulgence darker than what I am able to dim it to currently.

Thanks for the suggestion I downloaded f.lux and it is interesting. While I like the thought and I think it does help some, I wish I could still dim the screen further. This has been helpful though, thanks.

You tin can also try using the "High" contrast theme in windows. Information technology's was geared toward partially blind people though. But what it does is, it changes the white background with blackness background. So that may aid also. It's not pretty, but might help you.

I have a similar trouble. I take an HP computer and recently purchased a ViewSonic monitor. The screen is and then bright (white) that it hurts my eyes. I went to Menu on the monitor and reduced the brightness and contract significantly, just it still hurts my eyes. Is there any mode to dim the background or alter the groundwork to some color other than white?
